THE THORNTON POLICE DEPARTMENT WILL BE CONDUCTING TESTING FOR A CERTIFIED POLICE OFFICER POSITION.
A bonus of $5,000 will be payable upon hire to the successful candidate who enters into a minimum two year employment contract. A bonus of $10,000 will be payable upon hire to the successful candidate who enters into a minimum three year employment contract. The testing process consists of a physical fitness test at the NHPSTC entry level physical fitness standard. Thornton Police Officers perform a variety of assignments including but not limited to; traffic enforcement, accident investigations, criminal investigations and arrests, yearly detail options, and a variety of community policing efforts.
Salary is $22.00 to 23.05 per hour depending on qualifications. Officers receive an additional 2.5% raise after one (1) year of employment.
